Gourds, Polymer, Resin and Mixed Medium
Gourds
I grow the gourds, clean them, cut, burn, paint and embellish with clays, metals, found and fibers. Shown right is a mixed medium creation called Spider Woman. Bamboo uprights are woven with fibers, polymer clay edging lines the keyway opening. Ornamental buttons and beads are hand made polymer and resin, (not shown) elk teeth hang from the buttons. The interior and exterior are painted and coated with resin (interior) and wax (exterior). This piece resides in the Westmorland private collection

Mixed Medium
Resin, Clay, Stone, Wood, Fibers, Found Objects and anything that doesn't get up and walk away.
(It is well known that it is not wise to fall asleep in my studio.)
Shown left is a goatskin rawhide construction titled "Luminatti". It is standing quite literally on surface tension of cut and molded leather, with nothing more than 2 rattan rings for support and natural glue as an adhesive.
